• Yuldo is a fictional island in the novel "Hong Gildongjeon" written by Heo Gyun.
• Yuldo is located in the ocean across the sea, and it is depicted as an ideal place where people live in peace and harmony with nature.
• Hong Gildong organized the Hallbindang in Yuldo to steal the wealth of corrupt officials and distribute it to the poor. He also drove out the king of Yuldo who was neglecting his people and became the king himself, ruling the people as well.
• The exact location of Yuldo is not known, but Wido Island in Buan County, North Jeolla Province is known to be the place that inspired the creation of "Hong Gildongjeon". Wido Island is a 40-minute boat ride from Geoppo Port and is also known as Hedgehog Island. It is a famous tourist destination with beautiful coastal scenery and abundant natural environment.
